SELF CHECKING VIDEO READING PLACEMENT TEST

Reading Wizard, Unit 1 has been used with public school and home-schooled students from kindergarten to struggling high school students.  All students, except beginning kindergarteners, who begin on Lesson 1, must be tested to learn on which part to begin their reading instruction.  All tests, including the Placement Test, are self-check and may be given to an entire class at the same time.

Older students may begin testing from any two consecutive parts passed.  If the student does not pass two consecutive parts, continue backward, testing earlier and earlier parts until there are two consecutively passed parts. The student will start instruction in Reading Wizard at the beginning of the first two consecutively missed parts. 

 

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO TAKE THE PLACEMENT TEST, a computer device, a pencil or two with erasers and two to three full pages of the Placement Test Answer Sheet, which are free on the Reading Wizard website.

READ LOWER CASE LETTERS as the sounds the letters make.

READ UPPER CASE LETTERS as the names of those letters.
